Sellers must complete an application and meet the organic/sustainable standards for selling with Community Vibrations. Once you're an approved seller, you will get your own section on Community Vibration's main spreadsheet. You will be able to update your product availability biweekly and manage your sales from order to order.
When and Where Do I Deliver My Goods?
You will be able to set up a schedule that works best for you and delivery will always take place at our building in downtown Jackson, 229 S. Mechanic Street.
What If I Don't Have Something to Sell Each Week?
Community Vibrations was developed by small farms for small farms. Our system assures that small farms can get more from selling with the co-op. You may only have 5 dozen eggs to sell and 3 chickens – but add that to my 7 dozen and 2 chickens, her 3 dozen eggs and 10 chickens, and his 10 dozen eggs and now we have 25 dozen eggs and 15 chickens to sell collectively. Together we strengthen each other.
Sellers are not obligated to sell every week, however seller's are kindly asked to communicate with the store manager regarding product availability. If your products are out of season, please let us know when you next would have products to sell so we can make sure to include you next time around.
Are There Other Benefits of Selling Through the Co-Op?
When you become a seller with Community Vibrations, you become part of a diverse group of great people in the Jackson community. Nothing is better than positive word of mouth, and Community Vibrations helps make your name sound sweeter. Through various venues of advertising, we assist in getting your name out there by adding your sellers profile to our website and facebook page. Beyond networking and advertising, currently farm sellers work together to take part in our bulk organic livestock grain purchasing program. Grain is locally grown and together we can achieve bulk prices in order to make Jackson's local sustainable farms more competitive. To help with feed cost and production, we also have a protein calculator available so you can easily personalize your own grain formulas. All of our sellers are also added to a private forum to discuss co-op happenings and local agriculture news. This forum will be adapted to organize an equipment and work-share program so that our local farms can help each other get large tasks done and maybe even provide coverage for a much needed vacation.
How Much Does It Cost to Sell Through Community Vibrations?
Many are too familiar with the experience of paying for a table at a farmer's market only to find many weeks are too slow to justify the time spent away from your farm or business. It’s great if you sell items to offset the cost of your table, however too often you loose money and your even more valuable time. By selling through Community Vibrations, you have a low membership fee of $50 a year which also assures ownership in Community Vibrations. Sellers will then be able to sell in store with 20% of sales going back to fueling their local food cooperative. This system allows you to always walk away with money in your pocket when you sell items, and doesn’t punish you if a sale isn’t made.
